Wrapping up the Holiday

To wrap up our 4th of July weekend, my boyfriend and I went on a Sunset Boston Harbor Cruise yesterday evening. We went on one of these harbor cruises 3 years ago and it was still a really fun experience. It was different, as we got to see the USS Constitution's evening retirement ceremony, where they blast off a canon and take down the flags for the night. There were a lot of people, but we had fun taking in the scenery and snapping a few pictures.
After our cruise, we spent a few minutes in Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. I snuck a little peek at the store that had contacted me about being featured there. It's a very nice little place, so I'm hoping I can afford it in the future. I still can't imagine my stuffed animals being sold in such a historic place!

Speaking of my designs, this is my latest bear, Special Occasion Bear, who I think I will be adding some lace to today. She is white brocade with silver metallic floral accents, so she is meant for teens and adults only. I thought she would make a good gift for a quinceanera, first communion or a wedding. The material was very difficult to work with, and delicate, so this bear costs a little bit more in my shop. I used felt this time for the facial features. I bought this a couple weeks ago so that I could use different colors than just white and black, and also because I wanted more control about the size of the features. What do you think? Later this week I am going to be working on a design to pitch to my boyfriend's car enthusiast website, another "exotic' bear with brocade, and some personal projects as well. It'll be a busy week!

  1. Sounds like a fun day. I love the pic of the market place. It looks like it was taken during "blue light hour."
